Currey Ingram Academy Recieves our Special Award for the Most Innovative Use of Technology

HATS awarded Currey Ingram Academy, Brentwood, Tennessee our Special Award for the Most Innovative Use of Technology during this year's Future City regional competition at Auburn University's College of Engineering on January 29, 2022. Dawn Pilotti lead Currey Ingram Academy's team that used reverse osmosis technology for water purification for their city named Ihlanzakile.

HATS representative Minnie Praharaj, the President of DMS Technology, said "This was the best designed city model with best engineering solution. They had a very unique technical and innovative idea."

"This year future city competition went well in spite of bad weather. Students were well prepared. All the associations were asking the questions in a unique way together. I think it went very smoothly." according to Praharaj.

Special Awards winners at the Regional level receive a plaque, a certificate and $150 that goes to the team’s class.

Future City is a project-based learning program where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. The 2021-2022 Future City challenge is to design a waste-free city that uses the principles of a circular economy.
