Membership Types

HATS is an organization with non-profit professional technical, scientific, and engineering organizations/societies as members. There is no cost or dues to the members societies/organizations for membership but HATS does require each organization be registered with HATS and provide officer contact information each year. Each registered organization will have a Member vote for issues that require a vote from the entire HATS membership. A designated member from your organization must be listed and on the HATS distribution list in order to be notified for voting.

There are three other types of members for HATS:

Associate Member Organizations shall be firms, corporations, partnerships, organizations, companies, or entities which are interested in the objectives or activities of HATS and which, by Associate Membership in HATS, may contribute to and/or assist in fulfilling, or be helped by, the purpose for which HATS was formed. Associate Members have no vote at the Membership Meetings.

Honorary Members are any organization or individual who has made a direct and significant contribution to the fields of engineering and science and who have been nominated and approved by the HATS Board for lifetime Honorary Membership. Honorary Members have no vote at the Membership Meetings. Honorary memberships are by invitation only.

Advisory Members are any individuals, educational institutions or governmental agency, which are interested in the objectives or activities of HATS. Advisory Members must also be approved by the HATS Board and have a member vote at the Membership Meetings.

The HATS Board of Directors is governing body and is made up of four officers and other board members as voted on by the board. HATS is always looking for individuals in the community that are willing to volunteer time to serve on the board to promote the HATS goals and objectives.
