HATS STEDTRAIN Accepting Seed Grant Proposals

HATS STEDTRAIN is now accepting proposals for innovative projects that “seed” an enthusiasm in students for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and encourage the next generation of scientists, engineers, and other technical professions. The projects must involve hands-on activities by the students, and can be either in-class or extracurricular. Proposals must be submitted by midnight on April 1, 2022. We encourage all K-12 educators in Madison County, Alabama and surrounding counties to submit proposals.

Since STEDTRAIN was founded in 1988, we have awarded 599 STEM Seed Grants totaling more than $624,091 that our many benefactors have donated.  Type I Standard Seed Grants ranged from $200 to $1000, and were awarded for innovative, hands-on projects that will stimulate the student’s interest in scientific and technical subjects. Our more challenging Type II Enhanced Seed Grant may qualify for awards of $1500 to $2500.
